Common Questions

Here are answers to questions first-time visitors often ask.

Where and when do you meet?
We currently meet on Zoom. Email the pastor, JoAnne Kelty, at joanne.kelty99@gmail.com or call (612) 308-1615. She'll send you the Zoom link and welcome you personally.
What if I join late?
No problem at all — plenty of people join a little late. Just hop into the Zoom whenever you're able. We'd rather have you join late than not join at all. Life happens, and we understand.
Will I be singled out as a visitor?
We want you to feel welcome but not put on the spot. We don't ask visitors to stand or introduce themselves. You can participate as much or as little as you're comfortable with.
What about the offering? Do I need to give?
Not at all. We call our offering “the Disciples' Generous Response” — it's an invitation, not an expectation. Give only as you feel led, whether that's something or nothing at all. As a guest, you're never expected to contribute. We're just glad you're here.
Is communion open to everyone?
Yes! We practice open communion. All are welcome at Christ's table, regardless of church membership or denomination. It's offered on the first Sunday of each month.
How can I learn more about your beliefs?
We'd love to share! Check out our beliefs page, or email our pastor to set up a time to talk. We're an inclusive, progressive Christian community.
Can I bring my family/friends?
Absolutely! Bring anyone you'd like. We're a family-friendly church with programs for all ages. Everyone is welcome, regardless of background, orientation, or beliefs.
What if I have accessibility needs?
Since we're entirely on Zoom, there's no physical building to navigate, so this looks different for everyone. Whatever you need to fully participate — captions, a phone dial-in option, or anything else — just let JoAnne know and we'll accommodate you.
